This morning I went to see my gynecologist for my post-op appointment. He reiterated that the pathology report said severe dysplasia/carcinoma in situ. I asked him if the cone biopsy and fractional D&C usually took care of it and he said that most doctors would probably say that since I am done having children, the uterus should just get yanked. UGH!!
I am high risk for cervical cancer, so he is going to call a gynecological oncologist in Pittsburgh to see what he recommends and then call me. I really do not want to have a hysterectomy. Just the thoughts of it make me nervous. I'm not sure I will do it, even if this doctor recommends it.
I should know this week.
