ALL CLEAR!!!

Monday I had my surgery and everything went well. Yesterday my gynecologist called to tell me he had gotten back the OR pathology report already and everything looked good! Phew, what a relief! I go back for a follow-up appointment in 4 weeks.

Tomorrow I leave for the LBBC conference in Philly. This will be my third year attending and I cannot wait to see my girls! I'll post pictures when I get back.

Stupid Cervix!

So, remember how I had that cervical cone biopsy back in 2009 for carcinoma in situ? Well ever since, the scar tissue that resulted from that procedure has caused problems. Every time I go for a pap smear, my doctor is unable to get an adequate sample of endocervical cells. More often than not, they are not present on the pathology report, so I am having surgery done on Monday to make sure we've not been missing anything. My doctor is doing a hysteroscopy and D&C, which will be a breeze. I'm just happy it is finally getting done. I don't want to take a chance, considering I haven't had the hysterectomy they've been telling me to have done for the last 2 years. Cross your fingers that the pathology comes back good!
